When I explain to my friends my approach to food, which excludes bread, dairy, fried food, vegetable oils, sweets, and soda, they usually ask this question within the first 10 minutes: "But I eat a sandwich with cheese and mayo and a bag of chips for lunch, and now I can't eat bread or vegetable oils, so what do I possibly eat Leighann??" I have been asked this enough that I decided this would be a great topic to write my next blog post about. I will provide some easy & delicious lunch ideas that will make your day at the office or at class easier if you want to eat healthier or start following the Paleo diet.

A wanted to write a quick post to say how grateful I am that after only 3 days I have reached 300 page views. Thank you for reading and sharing with your friends. Never Quit, Never be Satisfied, Leighann I thought before I posted some recipe or meal ideas, a good foundation of what sorts of food to have in your kitchen at all times was the best place to start on your way to making easy, delicious, and good for you paleo meals. Lets start with the largest part of my diet: MEAT! Brotein And Lots of ItMany of my friends have asked me what sort of diet I follow in order to stay healthy and fit. I have experimented with many different diet methods in order to figure out what works best (I'm a skeptic scientist at heart, I like to do my own experiments) and I am 100% sure that the Paleo Diet has worked best for me, in both my weight loss and strength goals. Now a quick disclaimer: I am not advocating that this is the BEST diet for everyone, even though I believe a significant amount of people can benefit from it. People tend to forget everything is dependent on each person's specific goals. If you want to gain 50 pounds and are bulking, I would not recommend eating strict paleo. If you are a body builder and enjoy eating pop tarts or candy post workout because it fits your macros, I don't think switching to paleo will help you with your figure goals. BUT, if you are someone who wants to lose weight, maintain weight, decrease your risk for chronic diseases such as heart disease, or just FEEL both physically and mentality healthier (so basically you fall within the majority of the population) following a paleo diet will help you attain those goals. If you adjust your calories accordingly, eating paleo can help you lose or gain weight. The quality of food is where you reap the most benefits for your overall health. (Remember, anyone can lose weight eating pizza and then running 10 miles, but it doesn't mean they are healthy for doing so). So what exactly is the paleo diet, short and sweet? This is my first post. After mild success on my Instagram page consisting of recipes, motivation, gym humor, crossfit and olympic lifting posts, I have decided to make a blog devoted to fitness and nutrition. I will start blogging soon! Thank you for visiting :) |
